Master of Arts in Integrative Studies
The online Master Degree in Integrative Studies provides a flexible, interdisciplinary program for students seeking intellectual growth or professional advancement. Students work with an advisor to design a program that meets their specific academic, career and professional goals. Integrative Studies is also ideal for educators who are seeking a rank change or credentialing to teach at the college level.
The degree requires a minimum of 33 semester hours, including:
* MALS 601 Introduction to Graduate Research and Writing
* 24 hours of electives in at least two disciplines
* Master's candidates who wish to teach at the college level must complete 18 hours in a single discipline
* MALS 697 Thesis or Project
A wide range of courses are available in the online format from subjects including English, literature, history, and social studies.

Admission Process
Students seeking admission to the Master of Arts in Integrative Studies program must complete the following admission requirements:
1. Complete the Graduate Application for Admission at http://apply.nku.edu/. Select as your major: WB_Integrative Studies (Master's). Submit the online form with a $25 non-refundable application fee by the following application deadlines:
Fall: Aug. 1
Spring: Dec. 1
Summer: May 1

2. Submit official transcripts from all institutions previously attended to: NKU, Office of Graduate Programs, Nunn Drive - AC 302, Highland Heights, KY 41099. You are responsible for contacting all previous colleges attended to request that an official transcript be sent to NKU. Most universities require this request to be in writing; please confirm that your records have been received at NKU. A minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 is required.
3. Submit two letters of reference and a copy of your resume.
4. Complete a letter of intent stating your academic goals and proposed area of interest in the program. Your letter should be between 500 and 1,000 words.
