Nurse Practitioner Advancement Courses
NKU offers several online degree and certificate programs at the masters and post-masters level.
Master of Science in Nursing
This program equips professional nurses to assume advanced leadership and clinical positions in a health-care facility. Tracks include Administration, Education and Nurse Practitioner. (Accepted Fall and Spring).
Post-Masters Certification
Post-master’s certification programs are available to students who have an earned an MSN degree and seek specialized knowledge and skills as a nurse practitioner or nurse administrator. (Accepted Fall and Spring).
Nurse Practitioner Advancement
These online courses allow opportunities for nurse practitioners to gain an additional specialty focus such as Adult to Family Nurse Practitioner, or Women's Health to Adult Practitioner. (Accepted Fall, Spring and Summer).
Admissions Process
If you are interested in applying for admission to one of NKU's Online Graduate Nursing Programs, please follow the steps below.
1. Complete the Graduate Application for Admission at http://apply.nku.edu/. Submit the online form with a $25 non-refundable application fee by the following application deadlines:
Fall: February 1 (MSN, Post-MSN and NP Advancements)
Spring: October 15 (MSN, Post-MSN and NP Advancements)
Summer: February 1 (NP Advancement only)

2. Request official transcripts from all institutions attended to be mailed directly to NKU, Office of Graduate Programs, Nunn Drive, Highland Heights, KY 41099.
